How to Compress JPG, PNG, and WebP Images

Zipic image compression helps reduce file size for sharing or organizing assets. Select images in Finder, choose an output format and compression quality, then review the compressed copies.

Steps to compress images

  1. Select JPG, PNG, or WebP images in Finder.
  2. Right-click and choose Zipic image compression.
  3. Choose an output format and quality, then start processing.
  4. Review the compressed images in the output location. Original files remain unchanged.

Choosing image quality

Compression quality affects both file size and visual detail. Lower quality can produce smaller files; for edges, text, or fine detail, choose higher quality and inspect the result.

Images vary in content and dimensions, so the amount of size reduction varies too. Compare a few representative images before processing a large batch.

Formats and output

  • Supported inputs include JPG, PNG, and WebP.
  • You can choose an output format and quality.
  • Compressed results are created as new files; source files are not overwritten.
