BeeClear guide
How to Read BeeClear Results: Suggested, Optional, and Retained
BeeClear does not decide what to remove from size or modification date alone. It considers file type, app state, project references, usage evidence, and protection rules before grouping recommendations.
What the three groups mean
- Suggested to remove: items with sufficient cleanup evidence; qualifying items are selected by default.
- Optional to remove: inspect the location and reason, then select manually; these items are unselected by default.
- Retained: protected, active, referenced, or uncertain items cannot be selected for cleanup.
A score describes evidence strength
The score reflects how strongly BeeClear identifies an item as eligible for cleanup. It is not a measure of the file’s importance, quality, or usefulness to you. A score does not change the default selection. Review unfamiliar locations and explanations before deciding.
You can change the selection before cleanup
You can unselect a suggested item or manually select an optional one. At confirmation, BeeClear checks identity, state, references, and size again. Items that changed or cannot be verified are not processed using stale scan results.
